Yvonne M. O'Connor Clayton

Yvonne M. Clayton of Kingman, Arizona passed away at home quietly and with great dignity on March 19, 2014. She was born to Norman and Edna (Hughes) Segar on April 7, 1928 in Gladwin, Michigan. She had one brother Vernon, who preceded her in death.
She married Dennis A. O'Connor of West Branch in October 1948 and they shared three children. Yvonne was employed in West Branch for many years at Ellenberger Lumber as their bookkeeper until 1973 when she moved to Kingman, Arizona. There she was employed at Hammond-Copeland Lumber there until her retirement.
Yvonne married Paul Clayton of West Branch, her loving husband of 36 years who survives her in Kingman, Arizona, as well as two daughters, Judie O'Connor of Glendale, Arizona, Jan O'Connor (Rolly Steingraber) of Glendale, Arizona, and her son Michael (Linda) O'Connor of West Branch.
She had four grandchildren, Scott (Sharon) of Avondale, Arizona, Shannon Wilson of Glendale, Arizona, Jon (Monica) O'Connor of Grand Rapids, Michigan and Jeffrey (Jill) O'Connor of Wolverine, Michigan; three great grandchildren, Connor and Ethan Wilson of Glendale, Arizona, Molly O'Connor of Avondale, Arizona and was expecting the arrival of her newest O'Connor great grandson from Wolverine, Michigan in June. She had three step great-grand-children: McKenna of Avondale, Arizona, as well as Trent and Kiara of Wolverine, Michigan.
Yvonne was a woman of kindness and faith with many friends both here in West Branch and in Kingman, Arizona. A memorial service is planned for Saturday April 12, 2014 at Steuernol-McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, Michigan. Family and friends will gather at 11:00 a.m. for visitation and a service officiated by Dale Peters with lunch to follow. Cremation has taken place. Committal ceremony is planned later this spring. Those wishing may contribute to her home church in Kingman or the Ogemaw County Genealogical and Historical Society. Envelopes will be provided at the service.
