Winton Fredrick Ellis, age 89, passed away on Friday, October 2, 2020 in Kingston, TN. He was born on February 23, 1931 in Memphis, MI to Wilbert and Gladys (Duffield) Ellis. He lived in Zephyrhills, FL since 2013, formerly of Lupton, MI. Fred served in the United States Army during the Korean War. He enjoyed playing horseshoes, shuffleboard, darts, bocce ball and building.
Fred is survived by his children, Diane Jennings, Dean Ellis and Dale (Carina) Ellis; grandchildren, Rachel (David) Zakhar, Melissa (Anthony) Raasch, James (Morgan) Ellis, Corey (Shawn) Engel, Jeremy Roberts, Joshua (Ashley) Roberts, Kenneth (Amie) Roberts Jr., Garrett (Heather) Roberts, Jessica Ellis, Stephen (Elizabeth) Ellis, Natasha (Andrew) Thompson, Kassandra (Chace) Tallent, Gabriel (Katelin) Ellis and Zachary (Jessica) Ellis; and 36 great grandchildren. He is preceded in death by his wife, Violet in 2011, daughter, Debra in 2013, parents, two brothers and three sisters.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in Rose City will begin on Wednesday, October 7, 2020 from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. The graveside service will be held at Lane Heights Cemetery on Thursday, October 8, 2020 at 11:00 a.m. with veteran honors. Pastor Mel Killinger will officiate.
