Willis Buck Burley

Willis Buck Burley, age 86 of West Branch, passed away March 21, 2012 at Bortz Health Care in West Branch. Buck was born June 23, 1925 in Flint to Willis and Florence Burley. He married Dorothy R McMillan on November 2, 1946 in Flint. Buck had lived in West Branch since 1977. He was a member of the F.O.P., V.F.W., American Legion, Eagles, and was a Pilgrim in the Moose Lodge. Buck retired after 27 years from the Flint Police Department. He enjoyed golfing, hunting, fishing, camping, and being outdoors. Buck was a U.S. Army WWII Veteran, Purple Heart recipient and a P.O.W. Buck is survived by wife, Dorothy of West Branch, son, William Burley of Avenal, CA, daughter, Peggy (Lee) Rouse of Lupton, daughter, Lorry (Sieg Hein) Burley of Fenton, daughter, Rebecca (David) Jess of Swartz Creek, grandchildren, Kristina, Lisa, Teresa, Tim, Carl, Tammy, Claire, Thomas, and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is sister, Ruby (Rich) Gengler of Cadillac and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by parents, 5 siblings, and daughter-in-law, Corrine Burley. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin Friday, March 23, 2012 from 10:00 a.m.-12:00 p.m. and 4-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be Saturday, March 24, 2012 at 2:00 p.m. with visitation prior from 12:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home. Vane King will officiate.
