William Patrick Hart passed away in his home on Monday, January 3, 2011. He was born on April 11, 1922 in Saginaw, Michigan to the late Bernard and Florence Hart. He married the love of his life, Patricia “Gale” (Demsky) on September 16, 1955. She predeceased him on January 11, 2004, following 48 years of marriage. Bill graduated from St. Andrews High School in Saginaw, and he attended Central Michigan University. He spent most of his life in Saginaw. Bill also resided in Grayling from 1967 to 1977. Following the death of his wife, he relocated to West Branch. Bill served his country in World War II, and he remained active in several local and national Veteran’s organizations. Throughout his life, Bill pursued his passion for automobiles. He and his wife Gale owned and operated Ford dealerships in Grayling, Michigan and Snow Hill, North Carolina. Bill was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch, and he was a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and the Disabled American Veterans. Bill is survived by four children, William (Vickie) Hart, Timothy (Janet) Hart, Jane (Greg Sayles) Hart, Ann (John) Pelachyk; five grandchildren, Eric and Andrew Hart, Timothy Hart II, and Christina and Nicholas Pelachyk; brother, Michael (Mary Ann) Hart, sisters-in-law, Lorene Hart, and Jeanette (Jim) Anderson; brother-in law, John Boeheim; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife and parents; brothers, James Hart and Senator Jerome Hart; and sister Ann Boeheim. Cremation has taken place. A funeral mass will be held on Wednesday, January 12, 2011 at 11:00am at St. Andrews Catholic Church in Saginaw. In lieu of flowers, the family would appreciate memorial contributions to the Veterans of Foreign Wars or the American Legion.
