William Mark Hill, age 81, passed away on Wednesday, June 20, 2018 at Munson Grayling Hospital. He was born on August 24, 1936 in Alma, MI to Theodore and Lavinna (Royston) Pratt. He had lived in St. Helen, MI since 1968, formerly of Pontiac, MI. Bill married Dorothy Woehl in Pontiac on September 11, 1954. He retired from the Southfield Public School and had worked for Ira Kaufman Chapel in Southfield. Bill owned St. Helen Monument for over 41 years and helped with the Bluegill Festival. He was an avid toy car collector and a member of the Antique Automobile Club of America.
Bill is survived by his loving wife of 63 years, Dorothy Hill of St. Helen; daughters, Leslie (Susan Dorman) Hohman of Commerce Twp. and Debra (Marc) Carolan of Saginaw; son, Brian (Julie) Hill of Higgins Lake; 12 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren, and 3 nieces. He is preceded in death by his parents, son, Mark Hill, daughter, Donna Carpenter, and sister, Anna Katherine Ureel.
Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin on Friday, June 22, 2018 from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Saturday, June 23, 2018 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m. Barry Brown will officiate. A private family burial will be at Fairview Cemetery.
