William Leroy Floyd, age 86, passed away on Sunday, July 10, 2016 in St. Helen, MI. He had lived in St. Helen for the past 22 years, formerly of Inkster, MI. William was born on December 9, 1929 to Roy and Lempi (Honkala) Floyd in Rockland, MI. He was in the United States Army and served in the Korean War. William worked for the Ford Truck Plant in Wayne for over 20 years and was a member of the American Legion Post #416. He enjoyed trips to the casino and was loving known as “Uncle Bill” to those friends from St. Helen.
William is survived by his children, Bernice (Barry) Tikey, Lorrie Johnson, Steven (Tammie) Floyd, and Randall (Susan) Floyd; grandchildren, Shannon, Jessica, Brandon, Ashlie, Danielle, Emily and Austin; great grandchildren, Wolf, Kane, Ashley, Eric and Zoe; and siblings, Shirley, Dick, Toots, and Dan. He is preceded in death by his parents, wife, Evelyn, and siblings, James, Donna, Janet, and Tom.
A Memorial Service will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen on Monday, July 18, 2016 at 1:00 p.m. with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m.
