William C. Nightingale

William C. Nightingale, age 91, of St. Helen, passed away Wednesday, January 23, 2008. He had lived in St. Helen since 1968, formerly of Lincoln Park. Mr. Nightingale was a member of the CCC Alumni of Grayling and he enjoyed fishing, hunting, traveling, square dancing, watching westerns and Detroit Tigers baseball. William is survived by his children, Loretta (Jack) Kramer of West Branch, William (Beatriz) Nightingale Jr. of Gibraltar, Robert (Patsy) Nightingale and Ronald (Diane) Nightingale both of Roscommon, Dolores (William) Ferrill of Redford, David (Kathleen) Nightingale of Johnson City, TN, Timothy (Donna) Nightingale of Vero Beach, FL, Kathleen Nightingale of Taylor and Keith (Diane) Nightingale of Kemper, TX, 32 grandchildren, many many great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren. Also surviving are his sister, Mary Chaney of Ecorse and his sister-in-law Orillia Nightingale of South Lyon. He was preceded in death by his wife, Violet in 2004. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Friday, January 25, 2008 from 1-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Rev. Daniel Stoneback will officiate with burial taking place at Brookside Cemetery, West Branch. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch.
