Walter Witzke

December 5, 1912 — July 14, 2006

Walter Witzke, age 93, passed away on Friday, July 14, 2006 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. Walter was a resident of Rose City since 1975, formerly of Bay City. He enjoyed archery, golf, hunting and lapidary; was a former equestrian, an American Red Cross director, a member of Rock Club and President of the Bay City Bow Man. Surviving family members include Walter's son Jerry F. (Shirley) Witzke of Rose City and daughter Barbara J. Mehnert of Rose City; grandchildren Jerry, Steve, Bob, Joy, Mandy, Jenny, Mary, Sherry and Laurie; 16 great-grandchildren and 1 great-great-grandchild. Walter was preceded in death by his first wife Marie in 1986 and second wife Margaret in 2005. Walter's family will greet friends on Monday, July 17, 2006 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. at Lupton Friends Church in Lupton. The funeral service will take place at 1:00 p.m. at the church with Minister Jack Rick officiating. Memorial contributions may be made to Lupton Friends Church or West Branch Dialysis.
