Walter "Wally" S. Kowalczyk

Walter S. Kowalczyk, age 73 of West Branch, passed away Wednesday, March 6, 2013 at his home. Wally had lived in West Branch for the past 46 years, formerly of Standish. He served as chief of the Clear Lake Fire Department for over 25 years and was a member of the Rods and Relics Car Club. He enjoyed golfing, coin collecting, old cars and car shows. Wally is survived by his wife Lorraine of West Branch, children Ken (Karen) Kowalczyk of New Baltimore, Keith (Vicki) Kowalczyk and Kevin Kowalczyk (Sally McCary) both of West Branch and Kelly (Bill) Ingleson of Houghton Lake, 9 grandchildren Kyle, Alexis, Kurtis, Jenean, Jazman, Bret, Gail, Ivy and Journey. Also surviving is his sister Celeste Bargeron of Pinconning, his brother Edward (Brenda) Kowalczyk of Engadine and his best friend Scamper. He was preceded in death by his parents Edward and Irene Kowalczyk and a son Kirk. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Sunday, March 10, 2013 from 2-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Deacon Glen Painter will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to the family.
