Walter E. Provoast

Walter E. Provoast, age 86 passed away Wednesday, July 11, 2012 at the Grand Rapids Home for Veterans in Grand Rapids, MI. Walter had lived in the Prescott Area for most of his life. He was a U.S. Navy veteran serving during WWII. He was a life member of the VFW post #3774 in Skidway Lake. He also was a member of the Latter Day Saints Church. Walter is survived by his children, Dwight (Suzanne) Provoast of Hale, and Linda (Robert) Brown of Prescott. He has 3 grandchildren, Russell, Thomas, and Tiffany, 3 great grandchildren, Virginia, Trent, Claire and his dear friend, Eva Mae Loomis. Also surviving are 2 brothers, Ralph Provoast of Hale, Lloyd Provoast of Mesa, Arizona and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his wife, Lota Mae in 1999, brothers and sisters, Garfield, Samuel, Eva, Nelson, William, Clarence, Bessona, and Edith. Visitation for Walter will be held Wednesday, July 18, 2012 from 10-1PM at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch, MI. His funeral service will be held following the visitation at 1:00 PM at the funeral home. Pastor David Stewart will officiate with burial following at Logan Township Cemetery.
