Wallace Lawrence Dobrzynski, 78, of West Branch, passed away Saturday, October 12, 2013 at the University of Michigan Hospital in Ann Arbor after a brief illness. Wally moved his family to West Branch in 1989 from Melvindale, MI where he retired as a truck driver. Wally enjoyed car rides in October to see the color changes, pampering his tomato plants, manicuring his lawn, the occasional trip to a casino, and big family dinners. He also served 2 years in the Army during the Korean War. Wally is survived by his wife, Alta Dobrzynski, daughters, Cecelia Canamore of West Branch, Shannon Dolney of Southgate, MI; sons, Richard Dobrzynski of Melvindale, MI and Joseph Dobrzynski of Dearborn, MI and his buddy and grand-dog, Ollie. He was preceded in death by his mother, Cecelia Dobrzynski, father, Wallace Dobrzynski, sister, Geraldine Gasser, and brother Richard Dobrzynski. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday, October 16, 2013 from 5-9 pm. The Funeral Service will be held on Thursday at 1:30 p.m. at the funeral home in West Branch with burial following at Brookside Cemetery. Dale Peters will officiate. Memorial Contributions can be made to the family.
