Virginia M. Linsenman

Virginia M. Linsenman, age 93, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 5, 2022, at her home in West Branch, MI surrounded by her family. She was born on September 20, 1929, in Flint, MI to William and Margaret (Leachmann) Meuhlen.


Virginia was united in marriage to Robert Linsenman on May 3, 1952, at St. Matthew Catholic Church in Flint. She moved to West Branch after their marriage.


Virginia enjoyed being with her family and gave her time and talents to her community and the catholic church all her married life. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch, where she also worked as the church secretary for several years. She served on the St. Joseph Cemetery Board, Finance Committee, and was president and secretary of the St. Joseph Ladies Aid.


She worked at the State Savings Bank of West Branch and the Farmers and Merchants Bank of Rose City. She was the manager of Ogemaw Community Credit Union and retired after for over 20 years of employment.


Virginia served as the Ogemaw Township Clerk from 1963 to 2016, then became Deputy Clerk until her passing. She was active on the committee to restore Ogemaw Springs and Park and Ogemaw Township Cemetery. She also worked at the democratic party during the elections.


She was the president and secretary of the Ogemaw Chapter of M.T.A. and active in the American Cancer Society and Red Cross.


Virginia is survived by her daughter Cheryl Wakefield of Waco, TX; son Terry (Tracie) Linsenman of West Branch; grandchildren Mathew (Whitney) Linsenman of West Branch, Mari Linsenman of Alexandria, Virginia, Lori Ann (Michael) Wilson of Waco, TX, and Susan (Paul) Phillips of Oklahoma City, OK; great grandchildren Garret (Rachel Reynolds) Wilson of Austin, TX, and Brock (Baylee Hollingsworth) Wilson of Hewitt, TX, Wyatt and Brett Phillips of Oklahoma City, OK, and Nash, Gracie, and Collins Linsenman of West Branch, MI.


She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Robert in 2009, infant daughter Sharon Anne, son Gary Robert, brother and sister-in-law Robert (Ruthmary) Meuhlen, and brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Burt (Katherine) Meir.


Visitation at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, November 10, 2022, from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral mass will be held at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch on Friday, November 11, 2022, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Father Emmanuel Finbarr will officiate.


Memorial contributions can be made to St. Joseph Catholic Church, St. Joseph Catholic School, and Compassus Hospice.
