Virginia Ann (Cricket) Gunter

September 5, 1947 — July 8, 2005

Virginia Ann "Cricket" Gunter, age 57, passed away at home. She lived in West Branch for 28 years, formerly of Tennessee. Cricket was a member of West Branch Eagles Ladies Aux. and Prince of Peace Lutheran Church. She was owner of Jerry's Joint in West Branch for 25 years and owner of Cricket's on the Lake in Carp Lake, MI. Cricket was a humanitarian, very generous, and enjoyed riding her motorcycle. Cricket is survived by daughter, Kimberly Lamky of Elmwood, TN, mother; Sue Evelyn Creath, Prescott; grandchildren, Ashley, Arianna, and Nathaniel Parman; great grandson, Darion Parman; half-brother; Benny Gene Goolsby of Colorado; half-sister, Donna Goolsby of Port Orange, FL; great aunt, Ginger (Conrad) Warren; and many, many dear friends and co-workers. She was preceded in death by father, Benny Goolsby in 2004, special friends, John (Jack) York and Bob Turner. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will be held on Monday July 11, 2005 from 4-5 P.M. The memorial service will be at 5:00 P.M. on Monday July 11, 2005 at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home, Rev. Daniel Stoneback officiating. In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands.
