Viola Rose Delpier

Viola Rose Delpier, age 87 of West Branch, passed away Friday, November 6, 2015 at her home. Viola was born December 28, 1927 to James and Lula Markel in Detroit, MI. Viola had lived in West Branch since 1988, formerly of Warren, MI. She was a former president of the Altar Society at St. Leonard’s Catholic Church in Warren and a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch. Viola loved square dancing, line dancing, modern dancing, baking, entertaining, traveling, crocheting, fishing, bowling, puzzles, playing cards, and board games. She also enjoyed spending time with her family, especially her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Viola is survived by husband, Charles of West Branch, son, Dan (Jan) Delpier of Lachine, MI, daughter, Mary Jane (Bob) Copeland of Warren, MI, daughter, Marilyn (Bill) Snowhook of Clinton Twp., MI, daughter, Margaret (Rex) Zink of Ray Twp., MI, daughter, Michelle (Don) Tonn of Bay City, MI, son, Dennis (Dianne) Delpier of Roseville, MI, son, Duane (Bonnie) Delpier of Clinton Twp., MI, son, Delbert (Darla) Delpier of Harrison Twp., MI, and son, Donald Delpier of Harrison Twp., MI. Also surviving are 29 grandchildren, 41 great-grandchlidren, 1 great-great-grandchild and brother, Leo (Gloria) Markel of Fenton, MI. Viola was from a family of 11 children.

Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin Tuesday, November 10, 2015 from 2-8 PM with Rosary being said at 4:00 PM. A Celebration of Life Mass will be celebrated on Wednesday, November 11, 2015 at 12:00 PM with visitation from 11:00 AM until time of mass. Father Patrick Maher will officiate.
