Vincent Michael Tomassi

Vincent Michael Tomassi, age 61, a beloved member of the West Branch community, passed away unexpectedly at his home in West Branch, MI on Monday, December 3, 2024. He was born on June 12, 1963, in Dearborn, MI, to Larry and Barbara (Long) Tomassi. Vincent lived in West Branch since 1979. 

He devoted 30 years of his life to serving as correction officer for Ogemaw County. Known for his caring nature and warm demeanor, Vincent left an indelible mark on the lives of all who had the pleasure of knowing him.

Vincent’s personality was characterized by his kindness and compassion, making him a cherished friend and neighbor. Throughout his life, he was always willing to lend a helping hand or offer a comforting word, earning the respect and admiration of those in his community.

In addition to his hard work and dedication, Vincent had a passion for outdoor adventures, particularly enjoying time riding his four-wheeler and camping.

Vincent is survived by his mother, Barbara Tomassi; his sisters, Debbie (Patrick) Tomassi - Turcotte and Lisa (Kevin) Ashlin; nephew Hunter Turcotte; and step-nieces Tiffany Neikart and Holly Turcotte-Smith. He was preceded in death by his father, Larry Tomassi.

A Celebration of Life will be held at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Saturday, January 25, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 9:00 a.m.  Pastor Jim Beck will officiate.

As his family and friends mourn the loss of Vincent, they will forever cherish the memories of his warmth, laughter, and the love he shared with those around him. His legacy as a caring individual and a dedicated public servant will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
