Victor L. Ritter

Victor L. Ritter, age 73 of West Branch, passed away Saturday, July 24, 2010 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. Mr. Ritter was born in 1937 in Jasper County, Illinois and moved to West Branch in 1970. There he remained for the rest of his life. He was employed by Marathon Oil Co. retired and bought Buccilli’s Pizza in West Branch in 1989. Victor was a lifetime member of the West Branch Masonic Lodge, receiving his 40 year pin in 2009. He enjoyed fishing, hunting and Mac’s Place “roundtable discussions.” Survivors include his wife Patricia of West Branch, son and daughter in law, Kevin & Tarra Ritter of West Branch, grandchildren; Bradley, Christopher, Brittany, Brett, Justin and Freddie and great-grandchildren, Heaven, Serenity, Gabriel and Laila. Also surviving are his brothers, Lyle (Shirley Ritter of Union Mills, IN, Larry (Maria) Ritter of Anaheim Hills, CA and his sister, Linda (Ronald) Gyurke of Galion, OH. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Cynthia Wiles and his parents, William and Ruby Ritter. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Friday, July 30, 2010 from 1-9 p.m with a Masonic Service at 7:00 p.m. The funeral service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday at the funeral home. Rev. Dean Scott will officiate with burial following at Brookside Cemetery, West Branch.
