Veronica Ann Kitts (Payment), age 73, born on July 27, 1944, was called home by our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ, on Sunday July 1st, at her cozy cottage by the Au Sable Lake in Lupton, MI, with her loving husband Richard Kitts by her side. Vickie was the daughter of Leroy and Dorothy Payment, born in Toledo, OH. She was the loving mother of four children, Tauni Jones, Rob (Louise) Murphy, Trina Murphy, Joseph (Laurie) Mold and three children through her marriage to Richard Kitts, Robin (John) Monville, Michelle (Mike) Bieri and Scott (Michelle) Kitts. She loved all of her nineteen wonderful grandchildren, Dustin Barrons, Briana Alvarez (who she raised from the age of four), Lauren Jones, Sarah and Brian Murphy, Shamus and Aaron Mold, Hailey and Collin Heideman, Michael, Alexandria, Ashton and Samantha Bieri, Anthony, Jack and Caroline Kitts, Cullen (Allyse) Byrne, Ashley (Matt) Childs and William (Megan) Byrne. She had one great-grandchild, Emily Byrne. She was loved by all her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her parents Dorothy and Leroy Payment and her beloved daughter Trina Murphy, who held her hand into Heaven.
Vickie was devoted to her entire family and loved to cook large delicious meals for every holiday and birthday. Most recently, she planned her husband Rich’s 80th birthday party with extra love and care. She was a devoted Lutheran, member and former employee of Holy Ghost Lutheran Church in Monroe, MI. She was an amazing home decorator and enjoyed interior design with her loving husband. She enjoyed swinging on her deck and watching “beautiful cardinal birds” with her husband and three loyal canine companions, Lady, Lucky and Lola by her side. She also enjoyed going to her winter home in Florida over the last several years after she retired from the Kmart Corporation.
As Vickie mentioned in her Final Wishes, “If you wish to remember me, do it with a kind deed or word to someone who needs you. Bring someone to God. Volunteer some time to helping someone. Bring joy to someone who is suffering or alone. Help the homeless. Be a good listener. If you do that which I have asked, I will truly live forever.”
