Tyler Scott Silva

October 7, 1997 — February 25, 2023

Tyler Scott Silva, age 25, passed away unexpectedly in an automobile accident on Saturday, February 25, 2023, in Hastings Twp., MI. He was born on October 7, 1997, in West Branch, MI to Joe and April (Hart) Silva. He had lived in Vermontville, MI for the past four months while he renovated their new house, and previously lived in Okemos after moving from St. Helen.

On September 10, 2021, he married the love of his life, Chandler Grace Smith, in Shelbyville, MI. A year later he became a proud, loving father to his beautiful, “stinker-butt” Emersyn, on October 18, 2022. Tyler was an incredible dad and adored his baby girl.

Tyler graduated from Charlton Heston Academy in St. Helen in 2017 and then attended Northern Michigan University in Marquette, MI. It was at NMU that he met Chandler and couldn’t help but chase her downstate. Their relationship blossomed and he soon began working for his father-in-law, doing construction and landscaping. Tyler enjoyed fishing, hiking, traveling, helping with the farm animals, and all sorts of candy. He especially loved spending time with his family, friends, and his dogs Moxie and Moose. Nothing in the world made him happier than snuggling with his daughter and wife.

Tyler was one of the goofiest, fun-loving people this world has ever known. He brought a smile (and usually plenty of laughs) to anyone and everyone that he was around. He valued family deeply and cherished when everyone was together. His dance moves were epic and his energy contagious. He made the world a funnier and better place.

Tyler is survived by his loving wife Chandler Silva of Vermontville; daughter Emersyn Silva of Vermontville; parents Jose and April Silva of St. Helen; siblings Tony (Hope) Silva of Lowell, MI, Rick (Amy) Silva of San Jose, CA, Sara (Jamie) Briggs of St. Helen, D.J. (Danielle Marshall) Silva of Williamston, MI, Michael Silva, Danny Silva, Lexi Silva of St. Helen, Ryan Silva of Flint, MI and Jennifer Silva of Corunna, MI; Grandma Angeline Silva of Flint; Mother-in-law Kelly (David) Lowndes of Vermontville, MI; Father-in-law Scott (Tracie) Smith of Grand Blanc, MI; Brother-in-law Garrett (Julia) Smith of Fenton, MI; Sister-in law-Kennedy (Coble) Yates of Marquette; and many nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, and cousins.

He is preceded in death by his grandparents Jose Silva, Suzanne and Mike Perez, and Norman Hart; Great Grandma Delores Perez; Aunt Tia Theresa Armstrong; and Uncle Mike Lucia.
