Tim F. Hayes, aged 63, passed away at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, MI on 11-26-2020. Tim was born in West Branch, MI on May 30, 1957 to Carl J. Hayes and Margaret E. Wilkinson Hayes. Tim, loved playing video games, especially Star Trek and he has a very large video library of that program. He also enjoyed being with friends and family. At the age of four he was one of very few children to have open heart surgery at University of Michigan Hospital.
Tim leaves his brothers, G. Barry (Janet) Wilkinson, of West Branch, MI, Brian L. Wilkinson of Casselberry, FL, Mark E. Hayes of Hawaii, Kerry T. (Joyce) Hayes of Portugal. Nieces and nephews, Barry J. (Bernadette) Wilkinson, Mary Nell Wilkinson, Dalen (Burt) Colucci, Lindsey Wilkinson, Seamus Hayes, Krystil N. Hayes, and Taylor M. Hayes and grandnephew Dominic Colucci, Tim was preceded in death by his parents.
Tim was a competitor in the Special Olympics. He graduated from Ogemaw Heights High School in 1977. Tim lived in Charlevoix, MI where he volunteered for some time and he was well known in West Branch where he lived in the highrise apartments. He rode his Amigo scooter all over West Branch. He worked at G’s Pizzeria and at Glen’s Market for close to 10 years, Tim volunteered at the Humane Society as well as the hospital, he grew up at Sweet Briar Farm on Fairview Road. In spite of his handicaps he gave back to the community as much as he could.
His special friends are Catherine Ehinger Lechner, Mindy Draves , Becky Scott, his bible study friends at Trinity Episcopal Church, Kris Pfeiffer and Dawn, and the ladies at Edwards House, West Branch, who took care of Tim for several years. The staff at Covenant Hospital in Saginaw, MI were exceptional in caring for Tim.
Due to the Covid pandemic a Celebration of Tim’s life will be held at a later date.
In lieu of flowers donations may be made to the Ogemaw County Humane Society, Trinity Episcopal Church of West Branch or a charity of your choice.
