Mr. Grace, age 78 of Lupton passed away at his home after an extended illness. He had lived in Lupton since 1973, formerly of Detroit. He was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church, the K of C Council #2022-4th Degree All Saints Assembly. He was a Detroit City firefighter, retiring in 1973 after 26 years. He was a volunteer for Hospice of Helping Hands and a 25 year volunteer for the West Branch Regional Medical Center Auxiliary where he organized and started the transporters for the Auxiliary. He organized and started Boy Scout Troop #577 in northwest Detroit and he was a Scoutmaster and Explorer advisor. He coached the Babe Ruth Baseball Team for boys ages 13-15 in northwest Detroit. Mr. Grace is survived by his wife Mary Ann Grace of Lupton, children--Thomas (Patricia) Grace Jr. of Troy, John (Sharon) Grace of Webster NY, James (Mary) Grace of Kalamazoo, Laura (Jerome) Beland of Comstock Park, Janet Grace of Auburn KS, Robert (Lisa) Grace of Rochester Hills and Patricia (Fred) Cantu of Quakerstown, PA. 14 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Erin Marie Grace. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday August 11, 2004 from 1-9 P.M. There will be a Scripture service at 7:00 P.M and a K of C Rosary at 7:30 P.M. The Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 1:00 P.M.. on Thursday at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch. Fr. Robert Bissot and Fr. Richard Seifferly will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch.
