Thomas S. Myers, age 81 of St. Helen, passed away Sunday, March 4, 2007 at his home. He had lived in St. Helen since 1981, formerly of Flat Rock. He retired from the U.S. Navy after serving in WWII and the Korean Conflict, was a member of the American Legion Post #416 and the VFW Post #5680 both of St. Helen, the Hiram #110 Masonic Lodge of Flat Rock, past secretary of the Houghton Lake and West Branch Masonic Lodges, Chaplain of the West Branch Shrine Club, Elf Khurafeh Shrine Temple of Saginaw, Bay City Consistory, secretary of the hospital transportation unit of Elf Khurafeh Temple, Northern Coordinator for ambassadors for Elf Khurafeh, a member of the crippled childrens committee and a member of the First United Methodist Church in West Branch. Mr. Myers is survived by his wife, Peggy Myers of St. Helen, children; Thomas (Carole Ann) Myers of Clarksville, TN, Bryan (Doreice) Myers of Flat Rock and Cynthia (Marc) Stanley of Penfield, NY, grandchildren; Christine, Hilarie, Thomas, Nicole, Danielle, Cortney, Sara and Anna, great-grandchildren; Aaron, Allison, Amanda, Brianna, Trevor, Emily, Nevaeh, Ashley, Emily and Gavin. Also surviving are his sisters, Nancy Vaughn of California and Janice Sheppard of Dade County, FL, and his brother, Marshall Myers of Paw Paw. He was preceded in death by his sisters, Margaret Ann (Peggy) Thornton and Dona Hanna and his brothers, William Myers and Otis Jean Myers. A Memorial Service will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Saturday, March 10, 2007 at the First United Methodist Church in West Branch. Rev. Mary Lynch-Mallory will officiate.
