Thomas Patrick Gallagher age 73 of St. Helen passed away Saturday, January 2, 2016 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City, Michigan. Tom was a resident of St. Helen for over 20 years previously of Mt. Morris. He was born on October 4, 1942 to William and Valentean (KcKeon) Gallagher. Tom was a veteran of the US Army serving as a cook in Germany during Vietnam. He worked for General Motors in the shop for over 35 year. He loved to play euchre, visit with friends, and was an avid Detroit Tigers and Lions fan. Tom was a member of the American Legion Post #416 in St. Helen, a member of the Clio Eagles, and president of the MRVR Michigan Recreation Vehicle Riders Association. He was an avid fisherman and hunter, and loved boating, snowmobiling, and orving.
Tom is survived the love of his life Dora Freeborg of St. Helen, his brother Raymond (Linda) Gallagher of Mt. Morris, brother Lon (Cheryl) Gallagher of Mayville, brother Randy (Nancy) Gallagher of Mt. Morris, sister Maureen (Robert) Schultz of Durand, and brother Tim (Paula) Gallagher of Holly. He is also survived by many nieces and nephews and great nieces and nephews. Tom is preceded in death by his parents, and siblings Bill, Eva, Mike, and Greg.
Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin on Tuesday, January 5, 2016 from 2:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. The funeral service will be at the funeral home on Wednesday, January 6, 2015 at 12:00 p.m. with visitation from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the service. Pastor Rodney Morrison will officiate. Burial at Flint Memorial Park Cemetery in Mt. Morris, Michigan will be held at a later date.
