Thomas James Sauve, age 85, passed away on Saturday, October 3, 2020 at his home in West Branch with his family by his side. He lived in West Branch since 1965. He was born in Saginaw, MI to Thomas and Catherine (Kiebel) Sauve. Tom served in the United States Army 9th Engineer Battalion from 1957-1959. On May 20, 1959 he married Ann in Germany. He was a member of the St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch and the Knights of Columbus #2022. He surveyed for the State of Michigan MDOT for 39 years. Tom was an avid woodworker and he and Ann enjoyed traveling and gardening together.
Tom is survived by his loving wife of 61 years, Ann Sauve of West Branch; daughters, Susan (Mike) Taylor of Grand Rapids and Elaine (Frank) Pierce of Iron Mountain; son, Anthony (Michelle) Sauve of Midland; grandchildren, Daniel (Amanda), Leanna, Miranda (Brian), Kara (Ron) and Anna; great grandchildren, Colton and Brea; siblings, Mary Fergus of Saginaw, Kathleen Langschwager of Lansing and Peter (Kris) Sauve of Rockford. He is preceded in death by his parents.
A memorial mass will be held on Thursday, October 15, 2020 at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Father Emmanuel Finbarr will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the St. Joseph Catholic School in West Branch.
