Thomas Edward Garant, was born on Sunday, June 15, 1958, in Saginaw, Michigan. He peacefully passed away on Saturday, January 4, 2025, in West Branch, Michigan surrounded by his family. He was raised and spent his entire life in Flint, MI.
He dedicated 30 years of his life to the family-owned business, Quality Window Cleaning Service, before transitioning careers as a janitor for Kearsley Community Schools in Flint. Throughout his career, Tom exemplified hard work and kindness, traits that he will always be remembered for.
Thomas was a proud member of the Flint Eagles Club # 629 and cherished the time spent fishing with his brothers. Tom also had a deep love for his dogs, Lucky and Charmin, who were always by his side.
He leaves behind his beloved daughters, Lesa (Andy Muir) Garant of West Branch, MI, and Mary (Roger Wilson) Garant of Alger, MI, along with six grandchildren: Thomas (Megan), Matthew (Lizzie), Madison (Tyler), Jacob, Sophia, and Caleb. Tom is also survived by his brothers, Jim Garant and Mikey Garant, and many nieces and nephews.
He had two loves through his lifetime. His children's mother Doris, and their stepmother Deb.
Thomas was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Alexandria, parents Theresa (Lehman "Red") Mason and Raymond Garant, mother-in-law Ruth Hanner, sister Rosemary (Ray) Boike, brother John, brother Billy, sister-in-law Deb, and two dogs, Slick and Princess.
He will be remembered for his warmth, his laughter, and his generous spirit. Those who knew him will carry his memory in their hearts.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
