Thomas E. Evans

Thomas E. Evans, age 76, passed away Tuesday, August 6, 2013, at Bortz Health Care in Rose City. Thomas lived in St. Helen since 1994 and was previously from Taylor, MI. He was born to Stephen and Tillie Evans on August 23, 1936 in Detroit, Michigan. Thomas was a member of American Legion, Bowlers Association, and was a Union Steward for the Teamsters Local #299. He enjoyed bowling, taking care of his yard, and spending time with his grandchildren. Thomas is survived by his wife Carolyn Evans of St. Helen, his daughters, Susanna Krinke of Wyandotte, Valerie Evans of Roscommon, Mary Beth Evans of Houghton Lake, his grandchildren, Sabrina, Kaitlyn, Zachary, Skylar, Shelbi, Laura, Emilee, Jeremy Jr., and Brooklyn. Also surviving are his sister, Rosemary (Julius) Hill of Redford, his brothers, William (Joanne) Evans of Hazel Park, Donald Evans of Detroit and many family and friends. He is preceded in death by his parents, Stephen and Tillie Evans, brothers, Stephen Jr., Gerald, David, Robert, sister, Frances Kowalski, and grandchildren, Tillie and Gavin Joseph. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in St. Helen will begin on Friday, August 9, 2013 from 11 a.m. until the time of service at 1 p.m. Chaplain Jim Slasinski will officiate.
