Thomas Anthony Krebs, age 74, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2019 at McLaren Bay Region. He lived in West Branch since 1974, formerly of Mundelein, IL. Tom was born on January 18, 1945 in Chicago, IL to Raymond and Ella (Holst) Krebs Sr. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam War. He married Sandra Babion in Marquette on September 14, 1968. Tom was a member of the Mohawk Valley Militia. He participated in historical reenactments throughout Michigan, reenacting the late 1700’s and early 1800’s of the Revolutionary War and the French and Indian War era. He enjoyed learning and reading about historical events. He enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his grandchildren, who loved him dearly. He loved putting puzzles together and enjoyed meeting new people. He could strike up a conversation with anyone.
Tom is survived by his loving wife, Sandra Krebs of West Branch; children, Thomas (Sheri) Krebs, Stacey Krebs, Melissa (Ronald) Trout, Bethany (Brian) Crawford all of West Branch, and Michael Krebs of Kalamazoo; grandchildren, Torey Krebs, Caitlin Krebs, Zachary Crawford, Alexandria Crawford, Ryan Crawford and Noah Trout; and brothers, William Krebs and Raymond Krebs Jr. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, Joseph Krebs.
A private family graveside service, with Veteran Honors, will be held at Brookside Cemetery.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Mohawk Valley Militia, the American Heart Association, or the Michigan Veterans Foundation.
