Theodore Allen Scheid, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, January 3, 2019 in Rose City, MI. He was born on July 15, 1947 in Big Rapids to Allen and Virginia (Hagley) Scheid. Ted had lived in Rose City since 2013, formerly of Sterling. On February 23, 1974 he married Debra Barber at St. John’s Catholic Church in Standish. He was in the United States Army during Vietnam and served in Thailand. He was an automotive machinist at Carquest in Bay City for 40 years and enjoyed woodworking, fishing, going to garage sales, and working on cars and tractors. Ted also enjoyed repurposing items to sell and most of all spending time with his family. He was always helping people with anything they needed and he could fix almost anything.
Ted is survived by his loving wife of almost 45 years, Debbie Scheid of Rose City; children, Chris (Karie) Scheid of IA, Nicole (Steven) Gerrish of FL, and TJ (Kate) Scheid of VA; grandchildren, Nicholas, Caitlin, Nathan, Noah, and Cameron; brother in law, George (Dorothy) Barber of Bay City; many nieces, nephews, and great nieces and nephews; and best friend, Nicki “his girl”. He is preceded in death by his parents.
Per Ted’s wishes, cremation has taken place. There will be a Celebration of Life Mass at a later date.
