Thelma J. Greer

Thelma J. Greer age 78 went peacefully home to her Lord and Savior on January 26, 2010. Thelma was a member and chaplain of the Assembly of God Faith Alive Church and she also worked with the Salvation Army. She was an artist and enjoyed playing the piano and other musical instruments. Thelma was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and homemaker. Survivors include her loving husband of 59 years, Vern Greer whom she married September 17, 1950, 3 children, Karen Messer, Larry (Peggy) Greer and Tim (Jean) Greer, 10 grandchildren, 6 great-grandchildren, her brothers John Boeve, Jim (Val) Boeve and many nieces, nephews and friends. She was preceded in death by her infant daughter Cathy, her parents Henry and Vera Boeve, sisters, Kathleen Bryan and Patricia Oswald. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday, January 27, 2010 from 2-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday at the funeral home. Pastor Chad Deerman will officiate with burial taking place at Ridge Cemetery in Gladwin. Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society, Heartland Hospice or to the Faith Alive Church.
