Sue's life was marked by her passionate involvement in organizations that celebrated her love for history and genealogy. She was a cherished member of the Daughters of the American Revolution and the Daughters of 1812, where she devoted her time to honoring the sacrifices of those who fought for American independence. Her fascination with the Civil War and the American Revolution fueled her dedication to tracing her ancestry back to the founding fathers, a pursuit that filled her with pride and a sense of connection to her heritage. She also volunteered and contributed to the West Branch Historical Society. In addition to her historical interests, Sue found great joy in reading, often immersing herself in literature that broadened her understanding of the past.
Family was the cornerstone of Sue’s life. She is survived by her beloved daughter, Diana Day of Louisville, KY, her son, David (Dana) Beam of Nisswa, MN and her son-in-law Terry Hodges Sr. She took immense pride in her role as a grandmother to Terry “TJ” (Kelly) Hodges Jr. of West Branch, MI, and Jared (Sarah) Hodges of San Diego, CA. Her great-grandchildren Terry “Ty” Hodges III, Taylor Hodges, Quinton Hodges, and Landon Hodges brought her the most joy, serving as a source of inspiration and happiness.
