Steven Mark Pizzala, age 59, passed away at his home in West Branch, MI on Saturday, October 21, 2017. Steve was born on January 9, 1958 to Harland and Patricia Pizzala. He graduated in 1976 from Pontiac Northern in Pontiac, MI. After graduating, he enlisted in the U.S. Navy and served aboard the U.S.S. Guardfish. Steve spent most of his life working as a Corrections Officer for the Ogemaw County Sheriff Department. Later in his career, he worked as a Jail Administrator for the Manistee County Sheriff Department.
Steve was a wonderful husband, dad and grandfather. A friend to many. He loved spending time with his wife Robin, strolling the beaches of Lake Michigan. He enjoyed working in his woodshop. One of his truly favorite things was just hanging out with his “drinking buddy” and son, Brendan, you I will miss dearly. To my new daughter in law Whitney, a huge thank you for loving our son, and being a part of our lives. To my mother in law, thanks for all the questions and all of your love. To my wife, memories are forever but you need to make them first, that’s what we shared for 35 years.
Steve is survived by his wife, Robin of 35 years; sons, Brendan (Whitney) Pizzala of Kalamazoo, MI and Steve (Jodie) Pizzala of West Branch, MI; brothers, Rick (Pam) Pizzala of Crawfordville, FL and Ken (Cherie) Pizzala of Vanderbilt, MI; mother in law, Pat Moshier ;brother in law, Kirk (Lois) Moshier of Lapeer, MI; granddaughters, grandson, nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his parents, Harland and Patricia Pizzala and father in law, James R. Moshier.
