Steven G. Leonard

Steven G. Leonard, age 67, passed away on Thursday, December 17, 2014 in Rose City, MI surrounded by his family. He was born on February 1, 1947 to Robert and Marie Leonard in Lansing, MI. Steve married Deborah M. Chaffee on February 24, 1968 in St. Johns, MI. He served in the Army from 1968-1969 during Vietnam. Steve was an active part of the community of West Branch and Rose City. After many years in banking, he served as the West Branch Area Chamber of Commerce Director. He was hired, at the age of 62, by the Huron Community Bank as a Loan Controller Manager until his health made him unable to work in October 2014. It was a job that he loved. Steve was an avid deer hunter and would love to set in his deer blind and watch nature. He was a Michigan fan and also loved football.

Steve is survived by his loving wife of 46 years, Deborah of Rose City, MI; daughters: Amber (Greg) Wallace and Amy Leonard; grandsons: Jacob and Nathan Wallace; mother, Marie Leonard; sisters: Anna (Eddie) Paceka and Rosa (Paul) Dobies; sisters in law: JoEllen (Greg) Crips and Maryann Minarik; and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his father, Robert.

Visitation at the Holy Family Catholic Church in West Branch will begin on Saturday, December 20, 2014 at 9:30 a.m. with a Rosary at 10:30 a.m. The Celebration of Life Mass will begin at 11:00 a.m. Father Patrick Maher and Deacon Glenn Painter will officiate.

Memorial Contributions may be made to the Holy Family Luncheon Committee-CCW and the Ogemaw Hills Food Bank.
