Steven Edward Diehl

Steven Edward Diehl, age 71, passed away on Sunday, September 24, 2023, at his home in Rose City, MI surrounded by his family. He was born on December 11, 1951, in Flint, MI to Howard and Helen (Mogg) Diehl. Steve lived in the Rose City/Lupton for most of his life.

Steve was in the United States Army during Vietnam, proudly serving his country. He was a member of the Moose Lodge in West Branch. He worked in the construction business as a plasterer for dry wall for many years.

Outside of his military and professional life, Steve enjoyed fishing, hunting, farming, and working. He was known for his sweet and caring nature, always being there for others and maintaining a level-headed demeanor.

On March 16, 1985, he married Ginger Dillon in West Branch, MI.

He is survived by his loving wife, Ginger Diehl; his daughters Stacey (Todd Rosebrugh) Kartes and Jill (Jon Crawford) Diehl; and son Steven W. Diehl. He cherished his role as a grandfather to Cooper Diehl, Paisley Diehl, Alexis Kartes, Ashley Kartes, Ayden Kartes, Tristen Diehl, Issabella Crawford, Carter Crawford, and Keaton Crawford. Steve is also survived by his sisters Kathy (Kenny) Moorhouse and Norma (Steve) Pennington, his brother Scott (Billijo) Diehl, sister-in-law Lisa Diehl, as well as numerous nieces, nephews, extended family, and friends.

He is preceded in death by his parents, brother Ron Diehl and grandson Taylor Diehl.

A Celebration of Life will be held at the Rose Township Hall in Lupton, MI on Saturday, November 4, 2023, from 3:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. with the Ogemaw County Veteran Alliance providing a veteran honors service at 4:00 p.m.
