Shirley Kay Melroy, age 70, passed away Wednesday, April 6, 2011 at St. Mary’s Medical Center in Saginaw, Michigan. Shirley was born March 12, 1941 to Charles and Margaret Tinker in Grayling, Michigan. Shirley had lived in the West Branch area since 1979. She retired from Mich Con in 1999 after 27 ½ years of service. She enjoyed going to the casino, playing BINGO, playing cards, watching NASCAR and spending time fishing, and being with her family. Surviving family include her daughter Debbie (Van Shelltrown) Hall of West Branch, sister Elaine (Chuck) Goen of Torch Lake, sisters-in-laws Linda Tinker of Essexville, Thelma Tinker of Brindley, and brother-in-law Norm Moyer of Blue Lake. She is preceded in death by her parents Charles & Margaret (Priest) Tinker, 5 brothers, and 3 sisters. A Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 PM Saturday, April 9, 2011 at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch. Visitation will be held prior to the service on Saturday from 12-2PM. Pastor Daniel Stoneback will officiate. Memorials Donations can be made to the Melroy Family.
