Shirley J. Barshaw

Shirley J. Barshaw, age 73 of West Branch, passed away Monday, December 24, 2012 at McLaren Bay Region. Shirley had lived in West Branch since 2006, formerly of St. Clair. She was a member of the Moose Lodge in West Branch and she enjoyed playing solitaire, doing crossword puzzles, bird watching, traveling and camping. She enjoyed her family--especially her grandchildren. Shirley is survived by her husband, Joseph Barshaw of West Branch, her children Angel (Bob) Sillaway of Lansing, Traci Porter of Traverse City, Cory DeHar of Phoenix, AZ, Todd (Lynn) DeHar of Chelsea, Tammy (William) Schneider of Marysville, Brian (Cindy) Barshaw of Algonac, Brenda (Brian) Smith of Curran and Natalie (Andrew) Ellis of Cass City, 19 grandchildren and 13 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is her sister Patricia (Gary) Berry of Farmington Hills, her brother Walter (Nancy) Yonis of Sarasota, FL. and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her sister Catherine LaCrox, her parents Walter and Anna Yonis and her beloved dog Patch. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, December 27, 2012 at 12:00 p.m. until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. Rev. J. Daniel Stoneback will officiate.
