Sharon Louise Pickard, age 81, passed away peacefully on October 21, 2023, following a brief illness. Born on March 16, 1942, in Flint, Michigan to Chreighton Elson and Pauline (Morris) Bearup. Sharon would grow to become a beacon of love, kindness, and generosity for all those fortunate enough to know her.
Sharon spent her early years in Flint, and Ontonagon, before eventually making West Branch, Michigan, her home, where she would spend the rest of her life. She was a dedicated and skilled nurse's aide in OB for many years, providing comfort and care to countless new mothers and newborns. Her professional life was a testament to her nurturing nature and her unwavering commitment to helping others.
Beyond her work, Sharon was an active member of the Edwards Community Church in West Branch. Her faith was a cornerstone of her life, guiding her actions and providing a source of comfort and strength. Her dedication and service to her community were truly remarkable, reflecting the depth of her caring spirit.
Sharon was a woman of many interests and passions. She enjoyed cooking, traveling, and crocheting, always creating something beautiful and meaningful. She found joy in coloring and singing, and she loved watching the Price is Right and Hallmark movies. Her beloved pug, Missy, was a constant companion, bringing her immeasurable joy and comfort.
Sharon is survived by her devoted husband, James "Jim" Pickard of West Branch, and her loving children, Ernie Vinyard, Thomas Vinyard, Renee (David) Burke, and Mindy (Chris) Allen. She also leaves behind her stepson, James Pickard, and her cherished grandchildren, Cherie, Benny, Paige, Amanda, Stephanie, David, Jonathan, Raychel, Forest, and Joshua, as well as her great-grandchildren, Devin, Isaiah, Blaine, Nolan, and Brooks. Sharon's legacy lives on through her brother, Rick Bearup of Metamora, and her many nieces and nephews. She is preceded in death by her parents and brothers Dennis, Phillip, and Erwin.
Sharon’s Funeral Service will be held on Wednesday, October 25, 2023, at 1:00pm at the Edwards Community Church in West Branch. Visitation will be from 11-1pm prior to the funeral. Pastor Jon Scott will officiate with a luncheon to follow.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Edwards Community Church.
Sharon was a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, and friend. Her memory will continue to inspire and guide those who were fortunate enough to know her. Her life's journey may have ended, but her spirit continues to shine brightly in the hearts of her loved ones. Sharon Louise Pickard will be deeply missed, but her legacy of love and kindness will continue to live on.
