Sam Orlando

Sam Orlando age 83, passed away Wednesday, August 29, 2012 at Bortz Health Care of West Branch. Sam had been a resident of West Branch since 1972, formerly of St. Clair Shores. He was a past treasurer and member of the Clear Lake Fire Dept. and he owned and operated Northern Auto Electric from 1972 to 2009. Sam is survived by his children, Samuel (Jeri) Orlando of West Branch, Bernadette (Barnell) Williams of Augusta, GA and Stefan (Heather) Orlando of West Branch, 6 grandchildren, Shannon Orlando of Traverse City, Samuel Orlando of Mesa, AZ, Amber (Herman) Moseley of Augusta, GA, Jarritt Orlando, Isaac Orlando and Mikaella Orlando all of West Branch and his great-granddaughters Julianna and Jiana. Also surviving are two brothers and 3 sisters. He was preceded in death by his wife Sherry in 2002, his parents and one sister. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Friday, August 31, 2012 from 1-9 p.m. On Saturday, Sam will lie in state at St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Mass of Resurrection at 11:00 a.m. Fr. Patrick Maher will officiate with burial following at Damon Cemetery. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands or to the Multiple Sclerosis Foundation.
