Ruth J. Rau

Ruth J. Rau, age 86 of West Branch, passed away Sunday, April 15, 2012 at her home. Ruth was born September 29, 1925 in Unionville, MI, the daughter of Louis and Helen Remilong. She lived in West Branch all her life. Ruth enjoyed raising Boston Terriers, farming, gardening, and spending time with her family. Ruth is survived by her children, Janis (Butch) Kennedy of Merritt, MI, Larry (Debbie) Rau of West Branch, Dean (Linda) Rau of West Branch, LeAnn (Floyd) Lauria of Owosso, Steven Rau of West Branch, 9 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her siblings, Joan (Bob) Walters of West Branch, Peggy Nelson of West Branch, John (Sadie) Remilong of Selkirk, Alice (Ray) Gildner of West Branch, Mildred (Charles Smith)Wangler of West Branch, and Raymond Remilong of Fort Collins, CO. She is preceded in death by Husband, Stephen Rau in 2002, daughter Lora Rau, and son, David. A Service at Edwards Township Cemetery will be held Tuesday, April 17, 2012 at 11:00 a.m. with burial following. Memorial contributions may be made to Ogemaw County Humane Society.
