Ruth Eileen Cook

Ruth Eileen Cook, age 101, passed away on Friday, August 13, 2021 at MidMichigan Medical Center in West Branch. She was born on February 29, 1920 in Olden, TX to George and Faye (Snoke) Poling. Ruth lived in Houghton Lake since 1999, formerly of West Branch.

Ruth was a member of the St. John Lutheran Church in West Branch and Houghton Lake and the LWML Mission. She enjoyed canning, baking pies and cookies, gardening, family gatherings, traveling and going out to eat, especially for pizza. She loved everyone and everyone loved her.

Ruth is survived by her children, Gregory (Linda) Cook of Alger, Tammy (Richard) Morris of Lighthouse Pt., FL, Janice (Robert) Podleski of Prescott, and Robert (Martha) Cook of Houghton Lake; many grandchildren, great grandchildren, and great great grandchildren.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Gordon L. Cook, daughter, Ann Weiler, and granddaughter, Tracey Elmore.
Per her wishes, cremation has taken place and no services are scheduled at this time.
