Ruth E. Simmons

Ruth E. Simmons, age 85 of West Branch, passed away Saturday, February 24, 2007 at West Branch Regional Medical Center. She was a member of the Rebekah's of West Branch. She worked at the dime store and the Gamble store in West Branch and also owned and operated the Classic Beauty Shop in West Branch for over 25 years. Ruth is survived by her husband, Norman Simmons of West Branch, son; Ken (Claudia) Simmons of West Branch, 7 grandchildren and 12 great-grandchildren. Also surviving are her sisters, Eileen Schlaupitz of Naples, FL and Audrey Bradley of Okeeshobee, FL. She was preceded in death by her daughters, Norma Rhines and Gayle Harshman, great-grandson, K.S. Simmons, sons-in-law, Hubert Harshman and Charles Rhines and her brother, Bud Clemmens. A Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, March 3, 2007 at 11:00 a.m. at the Ogemaw Hills Free Methodist Church in West Branch. The family will be present to receive friends at 10:00 a.m. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch.
