Russell J. Goss

Russell Joseph Goss, age 71 of Gladwin, passed away Friday, August 10, 2012 at Bortz Health Care in West Branch. He had been a resident of Gladwin for the past 22 years, formerly of Freeland and Bay City. Russell retired from UAW/General Motors after 31 years of service. He also was a member of the Eagles Club of Gladwin and was a Hall of Fame bowler. He enjoyed dancing, karaoke, golfing, hunting, baseball, fishing, traveling, and card playing. Russell also was a fan of the Tigers, Redwings, and Lions. Russell is survived by his wife of 7 years, Wanda (Brindley) Goss of Gladwin; Children Tammy (Terry) Bouza of Bay City, Vicki (Rick Michalski) Goss of Millington, Shelly Wert of Saginaw, Arrin (Nancy) Swiatowy of West Branch and Amy (Roy Gildner) Swiatowy of West Branch. Also surviving are 5 grandchildren, Justin, Kaytlin, Alyssa, Kotey, and Keaton; 2 great-grandchildren, Kaden and Rylan; Sisters Yvonne Johnson, Ruby (Dave) Lyon; Brother Kenneth (Peggy) Goss; Brother-In-Law, Chet Reder; Sister-In-Law, Helen Goss and many nieces and nephews. Russell was preceded in death by his parents, Clifford and Celia; 2 brothers, Jim and Will; 1 sister, Marilyn and 1 nephew, Jeffery. Visitation will be held at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 from 2-9PM. The funeral service will be held at 1:30PM on Wednesday, August 15, 2012 at the funeral home. John Munn will officiate with burial following at Brookside Cemetery in West Branch.
