Russell C. Jackson Jr.

Russell C. Jackson Jr., age 77 of West Branch, passed away Wednesday, May 28, 2008 at his home. He had lived in West Branch for most of his life was a member of the West Branch city council, the airport board and the planning commission. Russell served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict and retired from United Airlines in 1994 after 38 years of service. Survivors include his wife Maxine Jackson of West Branch, children, Russell (Tammy) Bennett of Stafford, VA, Joseph (Paula) Bennett of Columbus, NE, Brian (Eva) Bennett of Denver, CO and Michael (Dawn) Jackson of West Branch, 10 grandchildren and 7 great-grandchildren. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Friday, May 30, 2008 from 2-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 1:30 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Rev. Dan Stoneback will officiate with burial following at Brookside Cemetery, West Branch. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch or to the American Cancer Society.
