Roy H. Wing

Roy H. Wing, age 87, passed away Saturday February 13, 2010 at Bortz Health Care of West Branch. Roy had lived in West Branch since 1987, formerly of Sterling Heights. He served in the U.S. Army during WWII and then worked out of Harbor Beach as a ship oiler sailing the Great Lakes. He was a life member of the VFW #7303 and a life member of the Detroit Odd Fellows. He enjoyed woodworking and working on cars. Roy is survived by his wife, Jadwiga “Hattie” Wing of West Branch, children, Renata (Henry) Sorensen of Rochester, Andrew (Roxanne) Wing Sr. of Lapeer and Christina (Richard) Brooks of Ferndale, grandchildren: Andrew Jr., Ryan and Lauren. Also surviving are his sister, Fay (Clarence) Block of Gafney, S.C., cousins, Lorraine of Tampa, FL and Betty of Sacramento, CA and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers. Services have been held.
