Roy E. Simmons

Roy E. Simmons, age 92, passed away Tuesday, November 12, 2013 at Bay Special Care Hospital in Bay City, MI. He was born to James and Mabel (Littlejohn) Simmons on March 1, 1921 in Rose City, Michigan and has lived in West Branch his entire life. Roy was a member of the West Branch Masonic Lodge and VFW of West Branch #3775. He attended First United Methodist Church and was the owner and operator of Roy Simmons Water Well Drilling. Roy was a United States Veteran and served in the Army during WWII. Roy is survived by his special companion; Helena Kerr of West Branch, MI, his daughter; Brenda Simmons of West Branch, MI, his son; Steven (Denise) Simmons of West Branch, MI, and his four grandchildren; Bryan Simmons of Kearney, NE, Gregory Simmons, Scott Simmons, and Jason Simmons of West Branch, MI. He was preceded in death by his wife, Mollie, son, David Simmons, grandson, Kevin Simmons, brother Norman Simmons and sister, Violet McCarron. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Sunday, November 17, 2013 from 2-9 p.m. The Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday at the funeral home. Rev. Lisa Cook will officiate. Memorial Contributions may be made to Friends 4 T.N.R. In honor of David Simmons, who passed away on October 30,2013, the funeral service scheduled for Monday will also be honoring David's life.
