Rosanna M. Atherton

Rosanna May Atherton went home to be with her Lord Saturday, October 25, 2008 at her home in West Branch, she was 81 years old. Rosanna was a member of the Calvary Baptist Church in West Branch. She worked in the OB department at Tolfree Memorial Hospital for 39 years. After she retired she continued to work as a private caregiver providing Christian love and compassionate care for others for over 16 years. She enjoyed gardening, sewing, crocheting, and a good bargain. Her family was her life; she loved her children and grandchildren. Rosanna is survived by her husband of 62 years Dean Atherton of West Branch. Daughters Dianne (Tom) Gavitt of West Branch, Karen (Blaine) Gaudette of Glen Burnie, MD, Lorna(Roger) Noble of West Branch, and Janet (Larry) Foss of Howards Grove, WI. 10 Grandchildren Tonya (Gary) Sancrant, Tony (Patricia) Gavitt, Jeremy (Holly) Gaudette, Andrew Gaudette, Jeff (Becky) Gaudette, Randy Gaudette, Kimberly (Chris) Vetter, Heather (Casey) Phelps, Kayla Noble, and Charlie Foss. 10 Great grandchildren Garett, Shelby, Levi and Hannah Sancrant, Jared, and Nathan Gaudette, Logan Vetter,Ian, Isaac, and Elliot Gavitt. She is preceded in death by her 2 sisters, Marie and Dorothy and 3 brothers, William, Harold, and Charles, and grandson Scott Noble. Visitation for Rosanna will be held Tuesday, October 28, 2008 from 2-9PM at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch. The funeral will be held Wednesday, October 29, 2008 at 11:00AM at Calvary Baptist Church in West Branch. Pastor Tom Teall will officiate. Memorial contribution can be made to Hospice of Helping Hands.
