Ronald Salmond, age 71, passed away unexpectedly on Monday, July 22, 2019 at his home in St. Helen. He was born on October 21, 1947 in Lapeer to Robert and Thelma (Lee) Salmond. He lived in St. Helen since 2001, formerly of Waterford. Ronald served in the United States Army from 1966-1969, during the Vietnam Era. On March 20, 2001, he married Barbara Anglin in Las Vegas. He was an American Legion Rider and a member of the American Legion Post #416. Ronald was the president of the Tuesday Retirement Golf League at the Birch Point Golf Course in St. Helen and the president of the AuSable Estate Association.
Ronald is survived by his loving wife of 18 years, Barbara Salmond of St. Helen; children, Chris Anglin of FL and Angie (Joe Rivera) Hewitt of Pontiac; grandchildren, Ashlee, Christopher and Josaphine; great grandchild, Bentley; and sister Nancy Aldlier of Lapeer. He is preceded in death by his parents and brother, James Salmond.
A memorial service with Veteran Honors will be held on Saturday, July 27, 2019 at the First Congregational Church of Roscommon, 109 S. Main Street, at 11:00 a.m. with visitation starting at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Nancy Bresette will officiate.
