Ronald Lee Newman

Ronald Lee Newman, age 73, passed away on Tuesday, November 25, 2014 at McLaren Bay Region in Bay City, MI. He had lived in West Branch, MI since 1994, formerly of Detroit, MI. Ron was born to Roy and Grace (Merrill) Newman on May 10, 1941 in Detroit. On February 1, 1975, Ron married Sylvia Samide in Detroit. Ron was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church and K of C Council #2022 where he was a past Grand Knight and 4th degree Faithful Navigator for several years. He was very involved in personal charity with the VFW and enjoyed collecting stamps, hunting, fishing, and bowling.

Ron is survived by his loving wife of 39 years, Sylvia of West Branch, MI; children: Vince (Kathleen) Rowe of Coldwater, MI, Bonnie (Randy) Schultz of Las Vegas, NV, Steven (Lori) Rowe of Dallas, TX, Martin (Dawn) Rowe of Coldwater, MI, and Bridgette (Carl) Loven of Boulder, CO; eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren; and sister Yvonne (Bob) Claus of Livonia, MI.

Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Thursday, December 4, 2014 from 2:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. with a K of C Rosary at 7:00 p.m. On Friday, December 5, 2014 Ron will lie in state at the St. Joseph Catholic Church in West Branch beginning at 10:00 a.m. until the Celebration of Life Mass at 11:00 a.m. Burial will take place at St. Joseph Catholic Cemetery. Father Patrick Maher will officiate.
