Ronald Lee Moore, age 77, of West Branch, MI passed away on Friday, January 5, 2024, at StoryPoint Senior Living in Saline, MI. He was born on September 8, 1946, in Lapeer, MI to Robert "Bob" and Vera (Stephenson) Moore.
Ron was an honest, diligent, and hard-working individual who took great pride in his work, his military service, and his family. He served in the US Army during the Vietnam War from 1969-1972, earning a Bronze Star Medal, demonstrating his commitment and dedication to his country.
After his military service, Ron worked as a store manager, eventually owning his own store. He then returned to government service, working the majority of his career for the State of Michigan in the Unemployment Agency. In retirement, he worked for the Friend of the Court in Roscommon and served on the Supervisory Committee for Northland Credit Union.
Ron enjoyed spending time outdoors, particularly hunting and fishing. Going for walks brought him joy, especially in his later years.
Ron is survived by his loving sons, Jeff Moore and David Moore, as well as his sisters, Marcia Moore and Barbara Snow.
He is preceded in death by his parents.
A funeral service will be held on Saturday, January 13, 2024, at 1:30 p.m. at Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Ron will be laid to rest, with military honors, at Selkirk Cemetery following the funeral. Pastor Russell Schmidt will officiate.
