Ronald E. Mears Sr.

Ronald E. Mears Sr., age 57 of Prescott, passed away Sunday, May 3, 2009 at his home. He had lived in Prescott since 1985, formerly of Muskegon. Ronald was employed as a truck driver for the past 6 years and he enjoyed fishing, hunting and all sports. Survivors include his wife Nora Mears of Prescott, children Robin Graves, Kimberly (Jeff) Mayer of Minnesota and Ronald Mears Jr. of Prescott, his grandson Tristan Bene and his mother, Mary Ann Gaines of Prescott. Also surviving are his brothers, Lonnie (Linda) Mears of Muskegon, Rick (Debbie) Mears of Grand Haven, Dale Mears and Darwin Gaines both of Prescott and Don (Heidi) Gaines of Saginaw and his sisters, Mona (Herb) Hamilton of Clio, Claudia (Ron) Nelson of Kalamazoo, Glenda Nelson of Prescott and Cammie Gaines of Flint and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Ray Mears. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin at 1:00 p.m. Saturday, May 9, 2009 until the time of the service at 3:00 p.m. Pastor Cindy Gibbs will officiate.
