Robert W. Reilly, age 82, of Lupton, passed away Tuesday, September 4, 2007 at his home. He was born in Flint on July 24, 1925. He married the former Wanda Dunbar on September 1, 1951 and he lived in Lupton for all of his life. Robert served in the U.S. Navy during WWII. He was a member of the Operating Engineers Local 324 and a lifetime member of the Dennis A. McKellar VFW Post #6486 in Rose City. He was a farmer and also owned and operated his own excavating business. He enjoyed farming and his land and he loved his family. Robert is survived by is wife Wanda of Lupton, children; Sue Antcliff of Lupton, Mary (Larry) Kartes of West Branch and William (Kelli) Reilly of Standish, 9 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren. Also surviving is his brother, Henry (Elsie) Reilly of Burton, his sisters; Ella (Ken) McPherson of West Branch, Anna Mae Illig of Standish, Patricia (Keith) LaFountain and Bonnie (Dalton) Wiltse both of Lupton and his sister in law, Jeweldean Reilly of Hollywood, FL. He was preceded in death by a son Jack, his parents, Walter Sr. and Anna Reilly, his brothers; Walter Reilly Jr., Alan Reilly, his twin brother Russell, and his brother in law, Ken Illig. Visitation at the Steuernol & McLaren Funeral Home in West Branch will begin on Wednesday, September 5, 2007 from 6-9 p.m. and on Thursday from 12-9 p.m. The Funeral will be at 11:00 a.m. Friday, September 7, 2007 at the funeral home. Elder Richard Hamilton will officiate with burial following at Brookside Cemetery, West Branch. Memorial Contributions may be made to Hospice of Helping Hands, West Branch.
