Robert James Meyer

Robert James Meyer, age 80, passed away on Sunday, March 22, 2020 at the Horizon Assisted Living in St. Helen after a very brief illness. Bob was born on October 30, 1939 in Hazel Park, MI to David and Agnes (Bartley) Meyer. He lived in St. Helen for over 23 years previously for Lake Orion, MI. Bob worked at Budd Company in Detroit as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic and retired after 30 years of service. He was a US Army Veteran and served during Vietnam. Bob enjoyed woodworking, going on Casino Trips, and spending time with his family.

Bob is survived by his wife of 61 years, Joanie Meyer of St. Helen, children, Jim (Cathy) Meyer of Troy, Ron (Kathy) Meyer of Ft. Wayne, IN, John Meyer of Clarkston, and Jenny (Rob) Boychuck of Rochester Hills. His 5 grandchildren Robbie (José) Meyer, Jason Meyer, Kim (Jeff) Cherryhomes, Cory Meyer, and Michael Boychuck, and 3 great grandchildren Brady, Christian, and Paige. Also surviving are his two sisters, Dorothy Scott, and BJ Meyer. He is preceded in death by his parents David and Agnes Meyer, and his siblings, Margaret, David, Bill, and Mary Ann.

Per Bob’s wishes a cremation as taken place and a memorial service will be held at a later date.
